A colleague recommended the light festival in City of Kobe, which I managed to find time to go on Friday night.
People say "there are many other light festivals just like that...." True.. Ginza, Tokyo has more pretty lighting around this time of the year.
But, the city of Kobe has mountains on the north side and the and ocean on its south end. It is a beautiful port city floating in the dark at night. So... imagine the wave of warm flickering lights in a freezing cold darkness. The combination of silence & warmth really does for me.. :)
Went to a wedding party of my BJJ friend, Motohiko. And, I immediately fell in love with the aura this art couple exudes... so soft and warm..., which seemed to have some sort of a healing effect on us.
They both graduated from art universities. So there were many artists in the party as well as BJJ barbarians.
I was curious to see how these two groups interact. We were all in one confined space for three hours, but, two groups never mixed together like oil and water.
It was like they didn't even feel the presence of each other. Or maybe fair to say we were just like the symbol of Feng Shui, which could be interpreted as perfect balance. ;)
Anyway, the party was a success. Congratulations! Motohiko & Sanae <3
Since I joined a BJJ team in Kyoto, my practice has moved to later hours. I've been taking the last train, a lot, to come back to Nara. Often at the Nara station after the arrival of the last train, I see trains getting redressed with new paintings.
Over the weekend, it was the train with a historic worrier, Kiyomori Taira, getting redressed. The worrier Kiyomori Taira (as his family) ran a government in the city of Kobe approx. 830 years ago.
Mmm.. I haven't visited Kobe yet, but I know it is a must-go place with many historic spots, western gourmet restaurants and the romantic night view. <3 Maybe I'll go in December. ;)
